Residents Urged to Prepare for Hurricane Ike
Hurricane Ike is a dangerous storm and is a potential threat to South Florida early next week. Residents are strongly encouraged to complete hurricane preparations this weekend. Have supplies to sustain your family, for at least 72 hours. If you live in an evacuation zone, have a shelter plan in place. For preparation tips, call 311. click here.

Public Hearings Set on Proposed 2009 Broward County Budget
Public hearings on the proposed 2009 budget are scheduled for Sept. 9 and 23, at 5:01 p.m., in Governmental Center Room 422, 115 S. Andrews Ave., Ft. Lauderdale. The public is invited to provide testimony at the hearings. As submitted, the total countywide millage rate for operations and capital of 4.8889 mills is the same as Fiscal Year 2008. click here.
