Next Rabies Clinic, Saturday, October 18

 Clinic Schedule Our next Rabies Clinic will be held Saturday, October 18, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the former Pompano shelter, 3100 NW 19th Terrace, Pompano Beach. Cost for a one-year rabies vaccination and Broward County Rabies Registration Tag is $25 for dogs and cats that are spayed/neutered; and $35 for pets that are not spayed/neutered. Microchips will also be available for $15. You must be a Broward County resident to attend. All dogs must be on leashes and all cats in carriers. Checks are accepted, with proper identification, but cash is preferred. Remember, there is now a $600 fine for pets that are not vaccinated against rabies and registered with the County.

Get 'Smart' at our Dog Smarts 101 Class

Foster CareThe next Dog Smarts 101 class will be held Tuesday, December 9, from 6 to 7 p.m., at the Miramar Branch Library, 2050 Civic Center Place, Miramar. The pet education class will teach dog owners (or anyone thinking about getting a pet), important information about dog behavior and ways to stop problems such as barking, chewing and housebreaking issues. The class is FREE to all residents. Please do not bring any pets to the program.  

ASPCA Mega Match-a-thon Event

JulySmall New  size.jpgCome and make a new best friend at the 2014 ASPCA Mega Match-a-thon event, presented by Subaru.  Broward County Animal Care has partnered with the Humane Society of Broward County to host this special "Fall in Love" adoption event, Saturday, October 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at T.Y. Park (shelter #6), 3300 North Park Road, Hollywood.  Adoption fees will be waived for 100 pets six months of age and older!
