Broward Cultural Division is a local arts agency, one of thousands across the U.S., providing financial, technical and marketing assistance to artists and arts organizations. Broward County has more than 1.8 million residents, 11.1 million visitors, 10,000 artists, 7,773 arts-related businesses employing 26,755 people, 575 not-for-profit cultural organizations and 31 cities, some of which operate their own arts councils and public art programs.

| CreativeBROWARD 2020 -Cultural Plan|
The Cultural+Planning Group worked in Broward County for 18 months conducting research to craft a 10-year Community Cultural Plan that examines the cultural tapestry of Broward County through its diversity connected to Creative Economy, Cultural Tourism and Public Art and Design.
The Executive Summary, as well as the full plan with its 49 recommendations/goals (also presented as a survey) are available online. The plan includes a needs assessment, vision, draft legislation, policy framework, recommendations, strategies, funding requirements, funding sources, evaluation instrument, and benchmarks. 2012 Creative Industries Reports conducted by Americans for the Arts, based upon Dun & Bradstreet data (as of January 2012): Broward County has 7,773 arts-related businesses and there are 26,755 arts-related jobs.

Public Art & Design projects are implemented each year as well as ongoing conservation of the Broward County collection of more than 250 artworks.

Cultural incentive programs, both project specific and general operating support, are awarded annually in varying amounts and ranges, to not-for-profit cultural organizations and artists. The annual Arts Teacher of the Year Award is one of South Florida's premier arts education events which annually honors the teacher of a Broward County public school who has excelled in teaching the arts to students and draws standing room only audiences. The program celebrated its 26th anniversary in 2011. More...
| Sailboat Bend Artists Lofts|
Located in the Sailboat Bend neighborhood in downtown Fort Lauderdale, 37 live/work spaces house a variety of artists who make their living from their art. Artspace Projects, Inc., a Minneapolis-based not-for-profit real estate developer worked with Broward County to develop this property which is now a thriving artist community with monthly art events.
The historic West Side School has been renovated to house the neighboring Broward County Historical Commission which houses a multipurpose space utilized by the artists for various events. More...
An ArtsPark is a Cultural Center for the performing, visual and literary arts including classroom and workshop space, exhibit and performance space and cultural programming by professional artists with free or low cost services to the community.
The Board of County Commissioners was so impressed with the other applicants that additional funding from the Bond is now enabling the cities of Pembroke Pines and Miramar to also have ArtsParks. The Cultural Division has received numerous awards including Gold and Silver awards from the Advertising Federation of Greater Fort Lauderdale (ADDY). Also yearly Awards of Excellence from the National Association of County Implementation Offices (NACIO). Americans for the Arts, in cooperation with the National Association of Counties (NACo) awarded the Broward County Board of County Commissioners the national award for County Arts Leadership. More...
