Nancy Spielman was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in Highland Park, Illinois. Nancy attended Southern Illinois University and graduated in 1980 with a B.S. in Graphic Design and a minor in Fine Arts. During the 80's Nancy lived in Chicago and was a Graphic Designer for print and audio visual production. During this period Nancy was successful as a full-time freelancer for many steady clients over the years. In 1989 Nancy relocated to South Florida when she focused on raising her family and continued in Graphic Design part-time.
During the later part of the 90s Nancy started pursuing her life long dream to become a painter, which lead her to Florida Atlantic University. In 2006 Nancy received her Masters in Fine Arts. Nancy teaches Drawing, Color Fundamentals and Two Dimensional Design at FAU and other colleges. Although she has a love of many different medias, her major focus is oil painting. Nancy's studio is located in the Wynwood Art District at the Cat•a•lyst Studio Artists Gallery. Nancy's website is www.nancyspielman.com.
