Dwight Hoffman has been an award winning Architectural Illustrator for over twenty five years. In the past four years he has been spending more of his time and energy devoted to the field of fine arts as a watercolor artist, and cartoonist. In a short period of time he has moved ahead quickly winning several awards and Best in Shows with the Gold Coast Watercolor Society, Miami Watercolor Society, Florida, and Georgia Watercolor Societies and The American Artists Professional League in New York City.
Recently, Mr. Hoffman won the Cornelia Whitner Campbell Award in the 38Th Annual Florida Watercolor Society Exhibition, as well as third place in their first Associate Members Show. In 2010 he won third place and the people’s choice award in the 7th Biennial National Art Show in Punta Gorda, the Dacota Art Brushes Award in the Georgia National Watercolor Show, and Best in Show in Art Florida here in Broward.
As a Fine Arts Major in college, his focus has been primarily in the area of illustration and representational art, he has spent most of his creative energies drawing images of people, landscapes, and architecture. Most recently he has focused his time on the magic that comes from capturing people in the act of being themselves, and in depicting everyday life. Attention to detail and a realistic approach has always been his foundation from the beginning, but he continues to expand and adjust his style as he learns more about the fine arts field in general.
Though he has been painting since early childhood he feels there is so much more to learn and add to his experience as an artist, and he feels his best artwork is still ahead of him. The skills and tools are in place. Time and opportunity to paint are the only real obstacles towards the future.
