"Vanishing View"
Integrated Art - Installation with multiple components
2008
Miramar ArtsPark, Miramar
Located at the border of a lake behind the Miramar Cultural Center, a shallow reflecting pool with multi glass panels water feature, incorporating metal cut-out of cranes in flight. Dramatic lighting at night illuminates the fountain creating deep shadow and mystery.
"Site-specific artwork celebrating the phenomenon of nature and revealing the life sustaining aquifer, hidden below the surface. By day, the work is an extension and reflection of the sky, clouds and changing light. Late afternoon into evening, it develops shadows and illuminates with the vibrant energy and hue of the setting sun. Evening into night, it transforms into the sunset, and a vanishing view - shadow silhouette, retaining the shimmering interplay of color and light after it has faded from the night sky. Located at the border of the lake, the artwork connects the lake to the garden interior, linking water, sky and earth".
