Hello Sunny
And the Tourism Award Goes to...
picture of the beachFLL and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau (GFLCVB) received the 2013 Destination Marketing Award during the Routes Americas Conference in Cartagena, Colombia.

The Tourism Award is presented for the best destination marketing campaign by a tourism authority. The GFLCVB and FLL team created marketing and promotional campaigns to increase market share in the South Florida region. The campaign resulted in FLL garnering more than 50% of the Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade domestic market.

By developing one of the first Airport/CVB Airline Marketing Programs in the region, new carriers added more than 20 new domestic and international routes. The new carriers include: Virgin America, Condor, Alaska Airlines, Avianca, and Frontier. The marketing program inspired expanded service by existing carriers such as Spirit, American Airlines, US Airways, and JetBlue.

“Drawings in Charcoal,” Featured at Our Art Gallery
picture of a bird in a handAcclaimed Broward Artist Virginia Fifield's artwork is currently on display in an exhibit entitled, “Drawings in Charcoal.” The exhibit, at the Lee Wagener Art Gallery in Terminal 2 (Departures Level), will run through April 4. Inspired by Florida’s fragile and magnificent beauty, “Drawings in Charcoal” is composed of large scale, meticulously detailed, life-like drawings of animals. "I work in realism and present selectively edited drawings of animal subjects in the form of portraiture," said Fifield.
