Summer Fun!

This is the final month to take advantage of our Summer Fun promotion! Adopt a dog or puppy and you can name your own adoption fee. Adoption fees on our cats and kittens continue to be waived (including our adoptable cats at Pet Supermarket stores located in Broward County). The $20 non-refundable deposit applies to hold a stray/lost dog or cat.

All adoptions include spaying/neutering, all necessary vaccinations, a Broward County Rabies Registration License tag and a microchip!

Clear the Shelter Event

Once again NBC6 will host its annual Clear the Shelter event, Saturday, August 19, from 9AM to 5PM, at our Animal Care Adoption Center, 2400 SW 42nd Street, Fort Lauderdale. You’re invited to come make a difference in the life of a shelter pet! Last year, 77 pets were adopted that day. This year we aim to top those numbers, so come out and make a difference! Adoption fees on all dogs and cats will be waived!

Are Your Plans Made?

August marks the beginning of the height of Hurricane season! If a storm hits our area, your pet can easily become lost from home. If you haven't done so, it is important to make sure that your pet is current on his rabies vaccination, and has a Broward County Rabies Registration Tag on a secure collar. In addition, if your pet has a microchip, please make sure the chip is registered to you, using your current home address and phone number. Registration is FREE at www.found.org.  Rabies vaccines, tags and microchips are all available at our August Rabies Clinic (see below).

In addition to identification, it is important that your hurricane safety plans include your pet. Plenty of helpful tips and information are available at the County’s Hurricane Planning website, at Broward.org/Hurricane.
