Protect Your Pet During the Holiday
July 4th is one of the most dangerous holidays for pets. To help protect your dog and cat, please follow these important July 4th holiday tips:
KEEP YOUR PET INDOORS! Many pets are afraid of fireworks and loud noises, so keep them inside so they do not escape from your yard out of fear. In addition, do not take your pet to firework shows--keep them safe at home.
- IDENTIFY YOUR PET. Make sure that your pet is wearing his Broward County Rabies Registration Tag on a secure collar.
- WATCH OUT FOR POISONS. Insect repellant, sunscreen candles, matches, charcoal and lighter fluid are all dangerous to your pet. Be sure to keep these items in a safe place where your pet cannot access them.
- KEEP YOUR PET ON HIS REGULAR DIET. Fatty, rich foods can upset your pet's stomach. In addition, foods such as chocolate, onions, grapes and alcohol can all be deadly to your pet!
Important Adoption Center Schedule
Please note the following changes to our Adoption Center schedule:

- July 20 (Thursday) - Our Adoption Center will CLOSE EARLY at 4PM for an important all-staff meeting. Hours of operation that day will be 11AM to 4PM. We will resume normal hours on Friday, July 21.
