Join The Hits 97.3 Radio at Just One Day Event!

On Sunday, June 11, Broward County Animal Care will participate in "Just One Day"--a nationwide event that ask shelters to pledge not to euthanize any non-suffering animals that day, but rather help find them homes.

That day--Sunday, June 11--all adoption fees and deposits on pets will be waived.  In addition, radio personality, Bryan Carstensen (aka Miss Bryan), with the HITS 97.3 Radio, will broadcast live from 11AM to 1PM at our Adoption Center, 2400 SW 42nd Street, Fort Lauderdale, so be sure to stop by and make a difference!

Hurricane Season Begins

Hurricane season has begun! If a storm hits our area, your pet can easily become lost from home. That's why, now more than ever, it is important that all dogs and cats are current on their rabies vaccinations, as well as their Broward County Rabies Registration Tags (to get your pet vaccinated and registered be sure to come to our next Rabies Clinic on June 10, see below for details).

If your pet has a microchip, please make sure the chip is registered to you, using your CURRENT home address and phone number. Registration is FREE at www.found.org.

In addition to identification, it is important that your hurricane plans include your pet. Plenty of helpful tips and information are available at the County's Hurricane Planning website.

Foster Parents Still Needed

Kittens, kittens everywhere and not enough Foster Parents!

Our Adoption Center is still in need of Foster Parents to help care for our young kittens until they are old enough (2 months old) and big enough (2 lbs) to be placed into adoption.

Animal Care will provide kitten food, basic pet supplies and medical care. All we need is for our Broward County residents to provide a safe and loving environment.

Community service hours for high school and college students, as well as those in medical and nursing programs will be provided.

If you can help, please e-mail our Foster Coordinator at foster@broward.org.
