Artists Hall of Fame, Chair

Bonnie Barnett attended the University of Pennsylvania. She is a Barnes Foundation Graduate. Bonnie has served on the Broward Cultural Council since 1990. Bonnie served as Chairperson of the Broward Cultural Council (BCC) and as Chair of the BCC Executive Committee in 2000-2001, and served as member of the BCC Executive Committee in 2002-2003. She also served as Chairperson of Public Art and Design Committee in 2003, 2004 and in 2007, Co-Chair of the 30th Year Public Art Outreach Committee in 2005-2006. Chair of Artist Hall of Fame 2009.

She presently serves on the Executive Board of the Broward Performing Arts Center, the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival advisory board, the ArtServe Board of Directors, and serves as Vice President (founding member) of Funding Arts Broward (FAB). She is also on the Executive Board of NOVA SE/Museum of Art chair of Acquisitions. In addition, she serves on the Board of the Hollywood Art and Culture Center. Bonnie is the owner of Bonnie Barnett Fine Art, Inc., an independent art consulting firm based in Fort Lauderdale, as well as CEO and president of Heritage House, Inc. Bonnie served on the Board of the State of Florida Arts Council for eight years under three Secretaries of State. She also served as Chair of Art in Public Places for the State of Florida for six years and served on the Executive Board of the State Council. She chaired cultural facilities for three years.

She
founded the Broward Community Alliance against AIDS and also served on the Broward County Commission HIV Health Board. She has received a number of awards and special recognition for her contributions to the community, including the “Women of Style and Substance”, the 2001 ArtServe Encore “Arts Collaboration” Award, the 2001 March of Dimes “Woman of Distinction”, the ArtServe “Role Model” award in 2005, the Crystal Vision Community Service Award and The Encore Individual Leadership Award 2007. She had just completed the Leadership Broward, a premier leadership development program, designed for people, who currently hold leadership positions and are involved in their community. 2009 Vision Award, SEO program for 2009/2010.
