Linda Houston Jones believes that "to much is given, much is required." Linda is the founder/president of Ashanti Cultural Arts, Inc. a not for profit organization that provides cultural arts, literacy, wellness and after school programs. Linda is also president of Newrelj, known as EJ’S Company, which her late husband, Emridge "EJ" Jones, Jr. was the founder/president.
Linda has won many prestigious awards including the ArtServe Arts Administrator of the Year Award, President Bush Volunteer Action Award, March of Dimes Woman of Distinction, Price Waterhouse Outstanding Business Leader, JM Family Enterprise African-American Achievers Award in the Arts, Girl Scouts Juliette Lowe Arts Award, community service awards from, 100 Black Men, Soroptomist Woman of the Year, Charmettes, Les Boines Amies, and the NAACP. Linda holds charter membership in Pompano Beach, Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, The North Broward County Chapter of the Links and the 1000+ Club.
Linda serves on the boards of three cities with days named in her honor: City of Lauderhill, City of Fort Lauderdale, & the City of Lauderdale Lakes. One day in her honor by Broward County. A graduate of Leadership Broward Class of XXVI and a member of Mt. Hermon AME Church. Linda has been recognized with an Alpha Kappa Alpha Outstanding Women Top Hat Award, Delta Sigma Theta Outstanding Women Service Award, Board of Directors ArtServe, Crockett Foundation Community Literacy Award, 5Linx, Inc. National Expansion Leader, Appointed by Commissioner Kristin Jacobs. Linda has BS and Masters degrees from Florida A & M University and Nova Southeastern University in Media Specialization, Learning Resources, and Administration Supervision.
