Roslyn Kurland has served on the Broward Cultural Council since 1985. She served as Chairman from 1989 to 1991 and as Vice-Chair during the previous two years.
Ms. Kurland has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from the University of Colorado and a Master of Arts Degree in Library Science from the University of Denver.
An active participant in community affairs in Broward County for the past 30 years, Ms. Kurland has served in various offices at the state and national level. She was a member of the Florida State Library Council from 1989 to 1997, serving as Chair for four years. She served on the Executive Board of the Urban Libraries Council from 1985 to 1997 and is past Chair of the legislative committee of the American Library Trustee Association.
Roslyn Kurland is past Chair of the Broward County Library Advisory Board, a position she held from 1982 to 1985 and past President of the Friends of the Broward County Library from 1985 to 1989. She was the Coordinator for the Southeast Florida Program, School of Information Studies at Florida State University. She was a board member, Founder and past Vice Chairman of the Broward Public Library Foundation.
