Artist Statement

Colby Katz

Colby Katz is an American fine-art and documentary photographer. Her focus has been on subcultures from sideshow performers, paparazzi and nudists to the quirky innocence of small town beauty pageants. Subcultures people may know about from the outside but rarely are allowed a glimpse of on the inside. Her photographs are empathetic and humanizing, she invites us to see this world through the subject's eyes.

Colby Katz's work has been exhibited around the world including exhibitions at The National Portrait Gallery in London, FOAM Fotografimuseum in Amsterdam, and The Lennox Contemporary in Toronto.
