 How will the awardees be selected?

  •  A selection committee for the awards is comprised of members of the Broward Cultural Council and its sub-committees, along with arts business and community leaders.
  •  The committee will review nominations based on each nominee’s eligibility and the nominee's contribution to the advancement of the arts education in their particular specialty area.

 What do the awardees receive?

  • Awardees will receive County-wide recognition in all of Broward Cultural Division media, including print and online publications.
  •  All winners will be presented with their award at the 2014 ArtsEd Forever Event, November 5, 2014 at Broward Center for the Arts.

 Who is eligible to submit a nomination for an award?

  •  Nominations may be submitted by any person (and may be a self-nomination)

                                                

AWARD CRITERIA

  

 Exceptional Arts Education Organization  


Eligibility

The organization nominated must be located in Broward County and provide arts education programming as a core function. Your nomination must describe the extent to which this organization has contributed to arts education in Broward County through one or more of the following ways: originality of contributions to arts education; efforts to further educate teachers, students and/or community; use of arts resources that extend into the community and state levels; demonstrates advocacy for arts education; and number of years of service to Broward County.

Legislator Recognition Award

Eligibility  The nominee must be an elected official who serves Broward County or one of its municipalities and has substantially assisted in the advancement of arts education policy and priorities at the local, state and/or national levels.

 Outstanding Contributions to Arts Education Award (Individual) 

Eligibility The individual nominated must be a resident of Broward County and your nomination must describe the extent to which this person has contributed to arts education in Broward County through one or more of the following ways: original contributions to arts education; sharing of their expertise with others (students, parents and other professionals); and ways they have contributed to the growth of arts education.

Outstanding Contributions to Arts Education Award (Business)

Eligibility The business nominated must be located in Broward County, and your nomination must describe the extent to which this business has demonstrated outstanding support for the arts education field in direct and in-kind giving and volunteerism along with the number of years of service to arts education in Broward County.

Outstanding Contributions to Arts Education(Non-Arts Organization) 

Eligibility

The organization nominated must be a non-profit organization located in Broward County, and    your nomination must describe the extent to which this organization has demonstrated outstanding support for the arts education field in one or more of the following ways: direct and in-kind giving;  and volunteerism; originality of contributions to arts education; efforts to further educate teachers, students and/or community; use of resources that extend arts education into the community and state levels; demonstrates advocacy for arts education; and number of years of service to Broward County.
