Broward County Pioneer Day honored Broward's 2019 Pioneers at the Pompano Beach Cultural Center on Saturday, May 11th.

Presented by the Broward County Historic Preservation Board, in partnership with the City of Pompano Beach and Broward County Cultural Division, the event recognized Broward residents who were selected by local historical societies and municipalities for their role in creating the diverse and vibrant community that has helped define the Broward County of today.

These Pioneers join a distinguished group of more than 1,500 previously honored Pioneers who have been honored since the beginning of the program in 1972. Special thanks to Pompano Beach Arts for your hard work behind the scenes, Gold Coast Jazz for serenading the reception and John Knox Village for catering. Many thanks also to the many town and city Commissioners and dignitaries who attended in support of their nominees!
