Broward-based artist Tobey Archer utilized color and light to enhance the passenger's embarkation/debarkation experience and to promote more efficient passenger flow. Ever changing fiberoptic patterns, neon column capitals at the top of the support columns and painted walls and doorways, transformed the space. This integrated artwork used one mile long of fiber optic cable on the ceiling.
The integrated design comprising of "Calypso", was a fiberoptic artwork found on the ceiling of the Great Hall of Port Everglades, Terminal 2, and "Waves", a fiberoptic sculpture on the North wall of Terminal 2 created in the gem-tone color scheme, and the neon and white plexiglass column capitals create a total environment.
