To preserve and perpetuate the uniquely American art form called jazz; to promote and present live jazz performances featuring national, regional; and resident artists; to celebrate the creativity and artistry of jazz musicians, composers and performers; to provide programs of jazz education and outreach.

Mainstage jazz concert series of seven concerts presented from November through May featuring international, national, regional and local jazz artists at the intimate Amaturo Theater of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts; Jazz Reflections: free jazz outreach concerts presented throughout the community; Jazz is Elementary and JazzSLAM - jazz education program for elementary school students; First Friday Jazz Jams – free jam sessions for student musicians with a professional jazz trio; the Jeanette M. Russell Jazz Scholarship Competition – jazz scholarships for students in need who are studying jazz; master classes and workshops with visiting jazz artists for public school music students; special fund raising and social events; and the Gold Coast Jazz Society Band – a network of professional jazz musicians, under the direction of Martin Hand, Music Director, available for bookings for concerts, community events and private functions.
