Purpose:
Florida Center for the Book was established in 1984 as the first affiliate of the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress to act as a catalyst and network for individuals and organizations, to bring readers and writers together, to promote books, reading and libraries and to celebrate the literary heritage of Florida.


Projects:
Presents literary lectures, author programs, reading discussion series, writers workshops, book arts demonstrations and the annual Fort Lauderdale Antiquarian Book Fair; Publishes literary essays and "Preface" a description of literary events in Florida.
