Purpose:
The City of Sunrise offers year ‘round programs to the public in the Civic Center Theatre, including classical, jazz, blues, and rock concerts, plays, musicals, children’s shows, seasonal programs, multicultural and world music programs, and film. Show times are usually Friday evenings, Saturday matinees, Saturday evenings, and occasionally Sunday matinees.   Five free concerts are also offered annually in the amphitheater between January and May.   The theatre is also home base for the Sunrise Symphonic Pops Orchestra concert series and is one of the venues of the Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival.

Ownership: City of Sunrise. Seating: 296. Stage Dimensions: 40 ft. wide x 52 ft. deep x 20 ft. high. Stage/Technical Specifications: Proscenium with thrust and orchestra pit (no fly space). Indoor theatre has 15 ft. wings, a 6’10” Kohler & Campbell professional grand piano, movie screen, CD, VHS & DVD player and projector with other hookups available. Dressing Rooms: 2. Showers: 2. Hall Personnel: Non-union professionals. Box Office Personnel: Available. Computerized Ticket Services: Available. Average Number of Performances Annually: 30. Rates: Upon request. Wheelchair Accessible: Yes. Other Information: A full range of concerts, theatrical and children’s shows are available year ‘round. Some shows and films are presented in the Civic Center’s outdoor Amphitheater, free to the public. Theatre classes for children 6 – 17 are offered.
