The women’s chorus began in 1972 under the auspices of the adult education program of the School Board of Broward County, and was known as the Broward Women’s Chorus. In 2000, the chorus incorporated as the BWC Choral Group Inc., which is a non-profit organization, funded primarily by the Kirk Family Foundation,  established as a living tribute, influenced by a lifelong love of music.
The BWC Choral Group Inc. consists of about 35 women from diverse backgrounds who love to sing. Members come from throughout Broward, as well as Dade and Palm Beach counties.  The BWC Choral Group performs throughout Broward and nearby counties for civic, recreational, educational and charitable organizations.  BWC’s repertoire ranges from enduring classics to the best in American pops, from inspiring sacred music to native folk songs and everything in between – blues, Broadway standards and patriotic music.  BWC performs two separate programs each year: a holiday show presented in December, and an original themed program, January through early May.  Each performance lasts approximately 50 minutes, but the length can be customized for your event.
The chorus rehearses Wednesday mornings in Fort Lauderdale, September through early May.  BWC welcomes singers of all abilities, from enthusiastic beginners to seasoned veterans.  All interested singers are invited to join them.
