To provide high quality, live jazz performances for South Florida residents and visitors at modest cost. To educate, entertain and build the jazz music audiences by offering historical perspectives to the music as part of a comprehensive performance modern idiom jazz experience with separate programs for young children and adults.

The signature event of South Florida Jazz (SFJ) is the annual November fundraising gala featuring international jazz luminaries (most recently 14-time GRAMMY Award winner Chick Corea). “Jazz Impressions” is an six-performance monthly concert series held at the Rose & Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center on the Nova Southeastern University in central Broward County from January through June at 8:00 pm. National, international and regional artists perform in this intimate and unique venue. Performances typically are coupled with brief lectures on the musical genre of the evening. South Florida JAZZ also maintains a jazz collective with a Latin band and a 17-piece big band, the South Florida JAZZ Orchestra which performs locally and tours nationally, as well.
