95 express bus

BCT is introducing the 95 Express, a fast and convenient service to and from Broward County and Miami-Dade County on new, Wi-Fi accessible, hybrid articulated buses, starting on January 25.

95 Express will start at Pines Boulevard/Flamingo Road, and travel along Hollywood/Pines Boulevard, with stops at Flamingo Road, University Drive, US 441, Hollywood Tri-Rail Station, and continue on I-95 to the Golden Glades Park and Ride Interchange in Miami-Dade County. It will then travel in the I-95 Express managed high occupancy toll (’HOT’) lanes to the Miami-Dade County Government Center Complex in downtown Miami. The northbound buses departing from Miami-Dade to Broward County will do the reverse route and stops.

The service will operate approximately every thirty minutes on weekdays during morning and afternoon peak travel periods.

Southbound buses will depart from Pines Boulevard and Flamingo Road at 5:45 a.m. until 8:45 a.m. and at 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Northbound buses will depart from the Miami-Dade Government Center Complex at 6 a.m. until 8 a.m. and at 3:45 p.m. until 6:45 p.m.

95 Express Service Improvements Effective Monday, May 17

On weekdays, 95 Express will now service the downtown Miami Bus Terminal. The bus stop is located adjacent to Southwest 1st Avenue in the terminal bus bay behind Miami-Dade Transit route 21 bus stop. This new stop provides service to an additional downtown Miami destination and transfers between Miami-Dade Transit and the 95 Express.

A pedestrian access gate will be added at the CB Smith Park and Ride location that will link the parking lot to the bus stop and shorten the walking distance.

All southbound buses to downtown Miami will start at the CB Smith Park and Ride bus stop, and will no longer stop at the southeast corner of Pines Boulevard and Flamingo Road. The elimination of the southeast corner bus stop is due to low passenger boardings and the large intersection crossing to access the bus stop.

Southbound morning buses will depart from CB Smith Park 15 minutes earlier. The buses will depart at 5:30 a.m. and the last bus will depart at 8:30 a.m. This adjustment will provide an earlier arrival in downtown Miami and earlier connecting transfers to the Metrorail and Metromover.

Northbound morning buses will depart from downtown Miami 15 minutes later. The first bus will depart at 6:45 a.m. A trip has been added at 8:45 a.m. and will be the last departing trip.

Northbound buses from downtown Miami will use Northwest 6th Street instead of Northwest 8th Street. Southbound buses will continue to use Northwest 5th Street.

Passengers are encouraged to refer to the new timetables dated May 16, 2010 or call the customer service center at 954-357-8400 for details.
