Broward County ’s Beach Renourishment Project (Segment III)
Week Ending May 22, 2005
By week’s end, approximately 90,000 cubic yards of sand was pumped onto the beach at south Hollywood, restoring approximately 850 feet of beach.
Near-shore and off-shore monitoring of the hardbottom habitats and reefs indicate no impacts from the dredging or beach placement, and measurements of turbidity (water cloudiness) are well within allowable limits.
