In the spirit of celebrating creativity, our Duende will bring together Broward County’s diverse talent and people in a countywide finale.

Our creative minds met and developed a unique approach to showcase local talent in a series of performances. Thousands of people will celebrate Duende with Broward County’s 100th birthday through a mosaic of art, culture, and entertainment.

Broward 100 – Celebrating the Art of Community grand finale celebrations begin on Friday, October 2, and continue through Sunday, October 4.

Programming will take place in downtown Fort Lauderdale and satellite locations throughout the County.  There will be something for everyone including a nightlife event on Friday evening -- showcased by a range of colors using digital technology intended to create a mood for this grand opening of the Duende weekend events.

The weekend will continue with a sunrise event, followed by family-friendly events all along the 2nd Street corridor, Riverwalk, Huizenga Plaza and Las Olas Blvd. to the beach.

The theatrical performance, directed and produced by Broadway Director and Cirque Dreams founder Neil Goldberg, will take place at Broward Center for the Performing Arts on October 2nd and 3rd.  Neil auditioned more than 1,200 people to discover LOCAL talent in Broward County. "I've produced shows throughout the world for more than 40 years," says Goldberg, "witnessing exceptional talent from remote countries to major metropolitan cities. What I have seen in our community is enough to produce the greatest Broadway-style Broward spectacle ever."
