  • 1000 Friends of Florida
    Advocates, through education, negotiation, and litigation, the implementation of growth management principles which balance the social, economic, and environmental values which make up Floridas quality of life. 1000 Friends was instrumental in establishing the Sadowski Act Coalition, which secured passage of the William E. Sadowski Affordable Housing Act of 1992, creating the nation’s largest dedicated funding source for affordable housing.

    Represents all 67 of Florida's counties and provides information by county on tax rates, population and organizational structure.

  • Florida Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials
    FAHRO is committed to the professional development of the people who provide public and assisted housing in Florida by offering a network for increased communication and education. This organization supports legislation for the improvement and development of affordable housing and economic opportunities.

  • Florida Association of Local Housing Finance Authorities (FLALHFA)
    Florida ALHFA was founded in 1989 as a Florida nonprofit corporation consisting of private and public professionals dedicated to financing affordable single-family and multi-family housing in the State of Florida. The FLAHFA provides learning and networking opportunities for providing safe and affordable housing. They also evaluate, advocate and support the State and Federal housing legislation and establish the importance of local housing authorities.

  • Florida Coalition for the Homeless
    The Florida Coalition for the Homeless (FCH) is an organization of homeless advocates, service providers, members of the faith-based community, formerly homeless persons, educators, attorneys, mental health professionals and many others statewide who are committed to putting an end to homelessness and improving the conditions of persons living without shelter. They promote the unification, involvement and leadership of local coalitions, service providers, homeless people, religious leaders, units of government and others in the development and implementation of a statewide agenda.

  • Florida Community Development Corporations
    Florida Community Development Corporations is a nonprofit organizations dedicated to strengthening Florida’s community-based development organizations in order to better serve their communities.

  • Florida Department of Children and Family Services
    Provides information about a wide range of health and human services provided through the state of Florida.

  • Department of Economic Opportunity
    Pursuant to Senate Bill 2156, the Department of Community Affairs will no longer exist beginning October 1, 2011. Many of the programs will be relocated to the State of Florida’s new Department of Economic Opportunity.

  • Florida Housing Coalition, Inc.
    The Florida Housing Coalition, Inc., is a nonprofit, statewide membership organization whose mission is to act as a catalyst to bring together housing advocates and resources so that all Floridians have a quality affordable home and suitable living environment. The Coalition provides professional consultation services through training and technical assistance on affordable housing and related issues; supports community-based partnerships in leveraging resources; and advocates for policies, programs and use of funding resources that maximize the availability and improve the quality of affordable housing in Florida.

    The Clearinghouse provides public access to data about housing needs and supply, subsidized rental housing, household demographics in Florida communities and much more.

  • Florida Housing Finance Corporation
    Programs provide assistance for renters, first-time homebuyers, disaster recovery and workforce housing.

  • Florida Independent Living Council, Inc.

  • Florida Supportive Housing Coalition
    The Florida Supportive Housing Coalition is an organization dedicated to creating long-term, independent housing solutions for people with various special needs populations, including: the elderly, certain veterans returning from service abroad, young people aging out of the foster care system, persons with a disability, those at risk or suffering from homelessness, ex-offenders, mentally ill and person living with HIV/AIDS.
