Report: "America's Rental Housing: Evolving Markets and Needs"

​The Joint Center for Housing Studies (JCHS) of Harvard University published a study of the current state of renting which outlines the economic climate, household data and rental stock figures.  As of 2013 there are 43 million rental households throughout the U.S. and the demand is estimated to increase another 4 million in the next ten years.  The demand is exacerbated by the current deficiency of affordable rental housing stock and low incomes, leaving renters severely cost burdened and paying, in many cases, more than half of their income on rent.  More…
