Federal Agencies Working to Make Homes Healthier

Advancing Healthy Housing – A Strategy for Action is a newly developed federal initiative to reduce home health hazards. Millions of homes across the United States were found to suffer from housing problems such as energy inefficiency, structural weaknesses and high levels of radon gas emissions. The collaborative strategy is driven by
five goals focused on reducing the amount of home health hazards, including establishing healthy recommendations, education, support and continuous research. The Strategy for Action website is the portal for information. Nancy Sutley, the Chair of the Council on Environmental Quality commented, “Through this plan, Federal agencies have committed to working together to make sure all Americans can count on safe, healthy places to live, grow, and thrive.”  More...
