Supportive Housing for Homeless Veterans
Corporation for Supportive Housing/The Pipeline

Veterans Commons, a new permanent supportive housing project, located near San Francisco’s Hayes Valley and Mission District, recently celebrated its grand opening with local officials and supporters. The development is the result of a joint effort between Swords to Plowshares and Chinatown Community Development Center and provides onsite services to veterans suffering from homelessness, disabilities, mental illness, substance abuse, HIV, and other debilitating disorders. Financing was acquired through many sources including Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH) and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD’s) Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) program.  More…
