Communities Continue to Face Serious Affordable Housing Shortage
Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties Press Release

The 2012 report, Affordability Foreclosed: The Rental Housing Challenge, developed by the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties, provides the statistical data which confirms the overwhelming need for local affordable housing.  The statistics expose the severity with which the community was affected by the economy, unemployment and rising costs.  These factors led to the local housing crisis which includes massive foreclosures and escalating rents.  The Community Foundation joined, a civic engagement website, to help publicize the information and open the dialog for affordable housing solutions.   “We want this to be a community-wide conversation given no community is untouched by these issues,” comments Leslie Lilly, President and CEO of the Community Foundation.  Presentations of the findings will be granted to associations and organizations, please contact Tina Snider, Director of Marketing and Communications.
