Housing Market Ends Year on High Note

Broward County home sales have been regaining strength throughout 2012; the median price for a single-family is now $230,000 which is 21 percent higher than this time last year. The number of homes sold has increased by 15 percent and property cash sales jumped 35 percent by the end of 2012. The news is bittersweet however, the housing market has risen so quickly that there is concern that South Florida could find itself in another housing bubble. The spike in the housing market has also caused a lack of affordable homes available to purchase creating a very competitive environment. More…
