2013 Homeless Point-In-Time Count and Survey Begins January 24

Every year Broward County submits a count of its homeless population both in shelters and on the streets; the numbers are then submitted for federal and state grants and dispersed according to each region’s need. This year’s survey will take place January 24 and end on January 25 and will be conducted by Broward County Homeless Initiative Partnership, Broward Regional Health Planning, the Homeless County Committee and more than 200 volunteers. “The survey is used to provide up-to-date information about the needs of persons experiencing homelessness and is a wonderful opportunity for the community to engage in efforts to end homelessness and learn about the Homeless Continuum of Care,” added Regine Kanzki, MPH, Division Director, BRHPC.
