June's Housing Scorecard Just Published

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the U.S. Department of the Treasury released their monthly housing market report for June. "Foreclosure starts and completions are down significantly from one year ago; and since January 2012, rising home values have lifted 2.4 million homeowners back above water. That said, we remain cautious because although mortgage delinquencies are trending down, they still remain quite high compared to historic norms,” said Kurt Usowski, HUD Deputy Assistant Secretary for Economic Affairs. June’s scorecard reported that consumers are still benefiting greatly from the government’s foreclosure prevention programs. This month’s scorecard also features a regional spotlight, which focuses on Portland, Oregon and their strong recovery from being one of the top cities affected by the housing crisis.  More…
