Deadline for Making Home Affordable Program Extended

Making Home Affordable logoThe U.S. Department of the Treasury and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) have extended the deadline for the Making Home Affordable Program, which originally expired on December 31, 2013, to a future deadline of December 31, 2015.  The program is the Obama Administration’s effort to provide relief to homeowners facing foreclosure.  The new deadline was also pushed forward so that it would correspond with deadlines for the Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP) and the Streamlined Modification Initiative.  The Making Home Affordable Program has directly assisted 1.3 million homeowners since its inception in March 2009.  More…
