HUD Issues a Supportive Notice for Public Housing Agencies

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has issued a notice for Public Housing Agencies (PHAs) to help guide PHAs at better assisting people experiencing homelessness when using the Public Housing and/or Housing Choice Voucher programs.  The notice was issued as part of the Obama Administration’s strategy to end homelessness by 2015.  PHA’s are given detailed information, via the notice, about how to report homelessness, define homelessness (specifically in relation to Question 4C on Form 50058), manage waiting lists, determining preferences, special circumstance admission policies, program termination and eviction policies, service provider advice and project-based voucher information.  More…
