Broward County Makes Strides in Connecting the Homeless with Assistance

Commissioner Sharief
Vice Mayor Barbara Sharief spearheaded the effort of County Commissioners’ collaboration with Sheriff Scot Israel, the Broward Sheriff’s Office, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to help fund a Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).  The web-based software, HMIS, connects homeless individuals and families with the services they need to gain assistance and prosper.  The Vice Mayor commented, “This is true collaboration between the Broward County Commission and the sheriff to do all that we can to bring an end to homelessness and increase public safety.”  More…
