Habitat for Humanity Reaches New Heights
Affordable Housing Finance Magazine


Community built by Habitat for Humanity in Daly City CaliforniaHabitat for Humanity is well known for gathering volunteer workers and building single-family homes, but now they have succeeded in constructing a multi-family 36-unit condominium in Daly City, near San Francisco.  The project took 11,000 volunteers and 155,000 hours of labor to create the 3-story affordable housing complex.  The property, which rests on a main transportation corridor, was donated to Habitat for Humanity by the city and partially funded by several sources including the New Markets Tax Credits, HOME Investment Partnerships Program and redevopment funds.   The residents will benefit from green planning , all the two- and three-bedroom condos are equipped with energy efficient infrastructure.  More..
