In light of Florida’s affordable housing crisis (currently over 900,000 very low-income households are severely cost burdened, paying more than 50 percent of their income for housing) Florida Housing Coalition debuted their “Home Matters for Florida Report 2014” at the Sadowski Housing Coalition’s February press release. Home Matters® is a national effort to educate the public and stakeholders about the importance of all Americans being able to secure a home and its positive effect on the country. The report provides critical Florida housing data and delivers the evidence that affordable and accessible housing reduces the long-term cost burden on taxpayers and simultaneously development stimulates the economy.
