San Francisco is in desperate need of affordable housing since the tech boom has sent market rate rents skyrocketing.  Rene Cazenave Apartments is an eight-story, 120 unit building which has transformed a Transbay area parking lot into a modern affordable supportive housing development for extremely low income residents.  The mixed use space consists of floor-to-ceiling windowed one-bedroom and studio apartments, energy efficient building features such as solar panels, medical and educational services, and the building’s ground floor features tenant lounges to foster community interaction.   More…
