Anytime a registered elevator company performs work as part of a service maintenance contract, a Record of Visit (ROV) must be provided to the building owner before leaving the worksite. It must be kept on file at the registered elevator company's place of business for at least 1 year.
In the event the building owner refuses to sign the ROV, an affidavit
stating the owner refused to sign must be submitted along with a copy of the ROV to:
Broward County Building Code Services Division
ATT: Elevator Section
1 North University Drive, Box #302
Plantation, FL 33324
Filing a Complaint
Any building owner who does not receive an ROV after a service visit may file a verified complaint. Any registered elevator company that doesn't provide an ROV is in violation of Section 21-8 of the Broward County Code of Ordinances and may be subject to a $500 fine for each violation.
