Find Thrills and Chills at Secret Woods

Take the kids to Spooky Woods (Secret Woods Nature Center) from 7-8PM on Thursday and Friday, October 29 and 30 to celebrate Halloween. The Nature Center offers a "thrilling and slightly chilling" tour of the park highlighting some of Fort Lauderdale's natural history. For ages 9 and up. Yappy Hour to Assist Delevoe Expansion Project

If you're looking for K9 fun with splash time for your pooch, hors d'oeuvres, beer and wine, raffle and silent auction during Yappy Hour, don't miss the first fundraising event of the Parks Foundation of Broward County. The event will be held on October 2nd from 6-8PM at Quiet Waters Park, 401 S. Powerline Road, Deerfield Beach. The fee is $50 for two people with or without a canine companion with all proceeds to benefit the County's Parks and Recreation Division. The first project that the Division hopes to partially fund is the Delevoe Expansion Project at Reverend Samuel Delevoe Memorial Park, 2520 NW Sixth Street, Fort Lauderdale. It's Carnival Time at AARLCC

The "Feathers of Hope" VisualEYES Mural representing Strength, Community, Family, Peace and Inspiration will be unveiled on Thursday, October 1st, 6-7PM at the Edgar P. Mills Multi-Purpose Center, 900 NW 31st Avenue in Fort Lauderdale.The #VisualEYES building mural is part of a countywide installation of public art projects in celebration of Broward County's Centennial, Broward 100 - Celebrating the Art of Community. This beautiful art work was created by Artist Nate Dee. Carried live on Periscope

Take a Coastal Exploration Hike

Explore the unique coastal habitat of Deerfield Island Park under the guidance of a Parks naturalist when the park offers a Coastal Exploration Hike, for ages 8 and up, from 9 to 11AM on designated Saturdays. The tour includes boat shuttle transportation to and from the island park. Deerfield Island Park is located at 1720 Deerfield Island Park in Deerfield Beach. Call 954-357-5100 for details. Does Your Dog Rule the Roost?

If the answer to this simple question is yes, now is the time to enroll your four-legged problem child in Dog Smarts 101 class. The class, hosted by Broward County Animal Care and Adoption and taught by a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, provides pet parents with important information to make dog ownership easier for both the dog and the family. Dog Smarts 101 is open to all residents and is free of charge. Since the class is not a dog training session, no pets are permitted. The following classes are scheduled for 2015 from 6-7PM:
