Chinese Lantern Festival- Few Days Rem​ain

Only a few days remain for this incredible evening of larger than life hand crafted lanterns, live entertainment, and Chinese folk artists demonstrating their ancient crafts. Central Broward Regional Park (CBRP) and Stadium will host this amazing event through January 15th in Lauderhill. More… 


33rd Annual Chili Cook Off Returns to C.B. Smith

Attention all country music lovers…the Chili Cook-Off  is a must do. Doors at C.B. Smith Park open on January 20th at 8:30AM. The Main stage will feature country music artists Darius Rucker, Old Dominion, Big & Rich, Maren Morris, Midland and Brandon Lay.


Big Read Kickoff at the Chalk Lit Festival

Kick off Big Read 2018 on Saturday, January 13th at Broward County’s Inaugural Chalk Lit Festival! Enjoy music, food trucks, murals created live and on-site by more than 20 street artists, 3D printing stations, face painting, museum-curated workshops, crafting with art materials, an area for kids to create their own chalk masterpieces and a People’s Choice Award. 10AM-5PM, Main Library.

Prepare a Winning Proposal

Small businesses can receive technical assistance and training on how to prepare winning proposals for County solicitations. The next Technical Assistance Training Program is Wednesday, January 10th from 2:45-4:30PM at the Broward County Governmental Center, Room 302. Register​.

Homeless Needs You

Broward’s Homeless Initiative Partnership is seeking 400 volunteers to assist with the collection of data for the 2018 Homeless Point-in-Time Count​ Survey and Built for Zero 2018 Registry Week on Tuesday, January 23rd and Wednesday, January 24th. In addition, an event that focuses on the homeless youth count will take place Saturday, January 27th.


Celebrate National Winnie the Pooh Day

If you love Pooh bear, the Deerfield Beach Percy White Library, 837 E Hillsboro Blvd., Deerfield Beach will honor the adored storybook character on Thursday, January 18th from 4-5PM. Kids who are ages 5 and up will enjoy stories, games, a short movie and crafts.


Get Your Pet Vaccinated

Is your pet current with their rabies vaccination? Animal Care and Adoption Center’s Rabies Clinic is coming to Hagen Park, 2020 Wilton Drive in Wilton Manors on January 20th from 9AM-2PM. You must be a Broward County resident to attend. No appointment is necessary and customers are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. All dogs must be on leashes and all cats must be in carriers.
