Take Photos Like a Pro

Learn all the tricks from nationally renowned photographer Jack Will. This Saturday class is offered on the fifth floor of the Main Library, 100 S. Andrews Avenue in Fort Lauderdale. Coloring for Adults

It’s Cricket Time

World class cricket is coming to Central Broward Regional Park and Stadium in Lauderhill starting Thursday, July 28th through Sunday, July 31st. The Caribbean Premier League will host six T20 cricket matches.  It's your chance to get up close and personal with the biggest names in cricket. Community Resource Fair at Mills Center July 13th

Broward County’s Family Success Administration and community partners will host a Community Resource Fair on Wednesday, July 13th from 10AM – 2PM at the Edgar P. Discover the World of Space and Astronomy

The African-American Research Library and Cultural Center at 2650 Sistrunk Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, has been awarded Discover Space: A Cosmic Journey, a traveling exhibit from the American Library Association that explores the fascinating world of space and astronomy. It covers topics such as the formation of planetary systems, asteroids and comets, Mars exploration, and solar storms and their impacts on Earth. South Florida Book Festival & Literary Conference

On Saturday, July 23rd from 10AM-6PM, the South Florida Book Festival will host a variety of authors and activities for the entire family at the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center in Fort Lauderdale. The Harlequin Romance Panel featuring Brenda Jackson, Glenda Howard and Marcia King-Gamble is scheduled from 1-2PM with a book signing from 2-2:30PM. Calling all Entrepreneurs and Business Owners

The County’s Office of Economic and Small Business Development is offering two free workshops to assist entrepreneurs and business owners. The Intentional Entrepreneur will be held on Thursday, July 14th to guide anyone interested in business ownership. Listening to Your Business, designed to support existing businesses, will take place on Thursday, July 21st. Both workshops will be held from 4:30 - 7:30 PM at the Lauderdale Lakes Library/Educational and Cultural Center. Advance registration is required; space is limited. More...​​
