Fitness Program for Older Adults  Free classes presented by the YMCA. For older adults interested in increasing heart health, muscle strength, flexibility, and balance. Classes taught by certified instructors and are appropriate for the very frail to fit.

South Florida Book Festival The festival features a collection of New York Times bestselling authors, a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, an Oprah Winfrey Book Club Selection author and other intriguing authors with a wide variety of topics. Award-winning journalist and talk show host Tavis Smiley - a popular figure on NPR and current host of Tavis Smiley on the Public Broadcasting Service and The Tavis Smiley Show on Public Radio International - will be discussing and signing his latest book, My Journey with Maya Angelou. A new component this year is a “Chef Smackdown” that will be held on Saturday evening at 6:30PM. The Florida Department of Health in Broward County provides Back-to-School Immunizations to children free of charge. Children can receive all vaccinations required for school admission. Sundays and August 15 are excluded. Don't miss the Immunization Health Fair, with prizes and giveaways, on Saturday, August 22.
