Free Tax Preperation - One-On-One Tax Return Preparation Services
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and teh TAx Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs offer free, face-to-face tax help to people with low-to-moderate income.  IRA-tax law certified volunteers provide this free service with electronic filing to all people who qualify.  Documentation check list

Join Lauderhill City Commissioner Ken Thurston; BSO Central Broward District Chief Capt. Andrew Dunbar; Children’s Services Council President/CEO Cindy Arenberg Seltzer; Broward County Community Partnerships Division Director Mandy Wells;, Plantation Police Department Victim Advocate/Juvenile Counselor Jumorrow Johnson and “Nina”, a human trafficking survivor who will speak of her harrowing experience as we launch “Broward AWARE! Protecting OUR Children”, in conjunction with “Stop the Traffick”, a walk organized by Fort Lauderdale High School students to raise awareness on human trafficking.  Flyer

2015 Sistrunk Historical Parade & Street Festival
The Sistrunk Historical Festival is a cultural organization that celebrates the accomplishments of people of African descent. The organization is named in honor of Dr. James Sistrunk, one of the first African-American physicians in Broward County. Annual Activities provide educational, historical, and recreational events in the Greater Fort Lauderdale area. 2015 marks the 35th year of the festival. More...
