Commissioner Kristin Jacobs has earned a well-known and respected reputation as a visionary, consistently bringing vital issues to the forefront long before they become fashionable. In 1998, Commissioner Jacobs was elected countywide to the Broward County Commission and is currently serving her fourth term. She is proud to represent the residents of District 2, and has previously served as Mayor in 2013 and 2005, and Vice Mayor in 2012 and 2004.
Kristin is constantly working with the intention of reaching out to neighboring community leaders, cities, and counties. In 2009, she successfully brought together four Southeast Florida counties. The counties signed a historic compact to speak with one voice to Federal and State government about the unique needs of our region. Building on that model, in 2013 she successfully forged a second compact with Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties, agreeing to work together to achieve common goals.
