A Message from Broward County Mayor Barbara Sharief

I am honored to have served you these past 4 years, not only as your District 8 County Commissioner, but also as the Vice-Mayor for 2012-2013 and as the Mayor of Broward County this past year. As we move forward for the next four years, I will continue to work on job creation, economic development, foreclosure prevention, saving taxpayer money, obtaining funding for initiatives that will enhance the quality of life through community programs and much more.

My theme this past year, has been “Broward County Means Business”. It’s more than just a theme for this year. It’s a way of defining Broward County and what we are about, which are outcomes and results! Broward has long been an advocate for the business community. This year I challenged our organization to expand this focus, building on successes such as business mentoring programs, loan programs and technical assistance.

I am looking forward to working with each of you and continuing to grow our cities while ensuring that Broward County continues to be an incredible county to live, work and play!

I welcome your comments and want to hear which issues are important to you. Send an email to me at Bsharief@broward.org or call my office at 954-357-7008. Also, check out the Barbara Sharief Facebook page at Facebook.com/barbara.sharief or follow Barbara Sharief at Twitter.com/bestmom39.
