The “Broward Means Business” Mayor’s Initiative recognized Turbine Controls, LLC with a proclamation designating September 23rd, 2014, as "Turbine Controls Appreciation Day" in Broward County. TCI was founded in 1980 and expanded the company to Miramar and has 35 employees.
Mayor Sharief recognized Jaxson’s Ice Cream Parlor by proclaiming “Jaxson's Ice Cream Parlor & Restaurant Appreciation Day" in Broward County. The special acknowledgement is part of Sharief’s “Broward Means Business” initiative. Jaxson’s owner, Monroe Udell, has been a South Florida resident since the 1940’s and opened the popular ice cream eatery in 1956.
