Final Draft 2012 Enhanced Local Mitigation Strategy Plan (ELMS)
The Local Mitigation Strategy Working Group is reviewing the Final Draft 2012 ELMS Plan prior to presentation to the Broward County Board of County Commissioners for adoption, in accordance with FEMA Requirement 44 CFR 201.6 (b).
The general public is invited to submit written comments and suggestions by email to email@example.com by December 26, 2012, in order to be considered for inclusion in the Plan.
The ELMS has undergone review and been accepted by both the State of Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 requires that counties and cities formally adopt a hazard mitigation plan, to update and revise the plan at a minimum of once every five years, in order to continue to be eligible for mitigation project grant funding.
