Everglades Holiday Park Rated Among Best Florida Attractions
You don’t have to travel hundreds of miles from home in order to visit a Top Florida attraction. Right here in Broward County is Everglades Holiday Park, the Florida attraction that readers of USA Today and website recognized as their top third attraction in the state. The 29-acre park is located on the eastern edge of the Everglades, a vast ecosystem unique to Florida. Large-capacity covered airboats, among the largest fleet in Florida, take visitors into the Everglades to experience distinctive flora and fauna as well as an Everglades favorite, alligators. Business Development Workshop Focuses on Small Business Growth
The Broward County Office of Economic and Small Business Development continues its ongoing workshop series on Thursday, February 20, from 6 – 7:30 p.m., at North Regional/Broward College Library, 1100 Coconut Creek Blvd., Coconut Creek. The featured topic, “Building a Stellar Team: Prime Selection Process and Sub Success Stories,” provides an understanding of how primes select their sub-contractors and how subs have achieved success in a competitive market. The workshop series is free and open to the public; pre-registration is not required. County Announces Partnership with Community Foundation for Upcoming Centennial Celebration
Broward County Cultural Division and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau have announced a unique partnership with the Community Foundation of Broward as co-sponsors of Broward County’s Centennial celebration. With a $400,000 grant from the Foundation, Broward County agencies will develop a 12-month celebration from October 2014 to October 2015. Broward 100 – Celebrating the Art of Community – will unite the entire county through a series of public events including a series of new public art initiatives; Inside Out, a visual arts project that encourages communities to reflect their diversity in large scale portraits that are exhibited in public forums, and a large-scale culminating event in October 2015. FLL Announces New Nonstop Service Between Broward County and Panama
Copa Airlines, a Panamanian airline and a member of the Star Alliance, will offer nonstop service four times a week from Panama to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport beginning July 11, 2014. Copa's new nonstop flight to Panama will enable passengers to connect at the airlines' Hub of the Americas to 58 destinations throughout Latin America including nine cities in Colombia and seven cities in Brazil. 

County Schedules Free Drop-off Hazardous Waste and Electronics Events 
Broward County Solid Waste and Recycling Services invites residents of participating cities to attend any of the 2014 special drop-off events for free disposal of household hazardous waste and electronics. This is a convenient and environmentally sound way to safely dispose of items such as an old TV, computer, keyboard or monitor, batteries, chemicals, paint or aerosol products and more. To participate in any of the events, bring proof of residency such as a photo ID with current address and accompanied by a utility bill, vehicle registration or a tax bill. More…
