Broward County’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) project is an enterprise-wide initiative, administered by the Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) through an ERP Project Office. An ERP system is software that replaces many stand-alone systems of individual departments and offices – such as finance, budget, purchasing, project and grants management, payroll and human resource management – and integrates the functions and the business rules into a single system that runs off a single database. Many governments and private sector organizations have turned to an ERP to help manage information and resources more effectively.
April 2012, the County solicited combined proposals for ERP software and implementation services and optional hosting services. Proposals were received in June 2012. The County has negotiated with the Third Party Assurance Provider that will assist with the procurement process and the life of the multi year project. The county has shortlisted four vendors which are: CedarCrestone for PeopleSoft Software, Ciber Inc. for PeopleSoft Software, Infor Inc. for Lawson Software, AST Corporation for Oracle e-Business Software.
