SUMMER INTERNS FOR EMPLOYERS

CareerSource Broward offers programs for local employers to access interns for the summer:

  • BrowardIntern.com - In partnership with Broward College, this innovative internship portal has launched to help bridge the gap between employers and individuals seeking internship opportunities with local businesses. Broward County employers are encouraged to submit their internship opportunities and/or positions at NO COST. All opportunities are posted on a first-come, first-served basis. To register online, visit the "Employers" tab and scroll down to the "Create and Employer Account Now" button. For information, call 954-202-3830 or email.
     
  • Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) - Get the help you need this summer and offer the work experience of a lifetime by employing a youth (ages 16 to 18). Through SYEP, CareerSource Broward and participating employers agree to the following terms: 
​CareerSource Broward will: Participating Employers will:
​Match 50% of the program cost through Children's Services Council of Broward County funding ​Donate 50% of the program cost for each participating youth
​Recruit, screen and match the youth to and for employers ​Employ a youth at their organization for 30 hours per week for 7 weeks
Provide a 3-day employability skill workshop to youth prior to their assignment at a work site​ ​Guide and mentor a youth in their first work experience
​Serve as the employer of record and provide the workers' compensation and payroll ​Provide meaningful work and positive supervision of the youth
​Provide staff assistance to both the youth and employer ​
